Take a read of what Vandna answered when we asked her some questions and get to know her a bit better. She talks to us about what she wanted to be when she was younger, what she does on a daily basis here at MLG Healthcare and how she unwinds when she’s not at work.
Can you give us a two sentence bio about yourself?
I am an easy going person, hard working. Also always there whenever anyone needs a helping hand.
What do you do at MLG Healthcare on a daily basis?
I process timesheets, set up the payment run, debt and credit control.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love being part of the back office team. I enjoy making nurses happy by paying them for their shift.
What advice were you given in your career that has stuck with you?
Never stop trying to be better than you already are. There is always a step up from where you are; the sky’s the limit.
If you put your mind into something, then anything is achievable.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a teacher. I loved the idea of watching children grow in their own awesome characters.
How do you relax when you’re not at work?
Watching movies, spending quality with my family. I love planning my next holiday as we love to explore the world.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Being in an Asian family there was always a push to go to university; however, my parents stood by me and allowed me to start working at the age of 21. I gained a level 3&4 NVQ in childcare and education.
Recently I have had a career change and learnt lots of new things and processes on the computer.
What is your most treasured possession?
A bit cheesy but my family, who I adore and love so much. Without their help and support, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Tell us something different about yourself?
I love Indian dancing and have been dancing since the age of 5yrs old. I took part in the Big Dance in 2006 and helped break the world record for having 752 dancers performing 44 different dancing styles simultaneously to one music track.
Thank you to Vandna for taking the time to answer our questions! Next month we’ll have another spotlight so remember to check back.
