Following Sharon and the teams success with our recent Audit, of which MLG Healthcare proudly achieved a score of 100%, we decided that the last spotlight of the year should come from our Head of Compliance, Sharon. She answers a variety of questions, including some great advice given in her career and how she relaxes when she isn’t at work.
Can you give us a two sentence bio about yourself?
I am a very creative-minded person who loves spreadsheets. I consider myself to be open-minded and sincere with a passion for cookies ????
What do you do at MLG Healthcare on a daily basis?
My job is to ensure all back-office departments are meeting MLG standards and resources are correctly utilised. I evaluate staff performance through reviewing KPI and statistics and provide general admin/assistance to sales floor and management. I also assist with HR duties on a regular basis.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I feel the MLG Healthcare definitely have a family feel environment which, in my opinion, makes a job enjoyable. I also enjoy helping and supporting staff members to develop. This gives me a sense of satisfaction to see people succeed in their goals whatever they are.
What advice were you given in your career that has stuck with you?
Perception is reality “Perception is real even when it’s not reality”
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I grew up being very bossy and loved the idea of being a teacher; this novelty wore off when I realised this was not actually part of the job.
How do you relax when you’re not at work?
Other than spending time with my family, I relax by watching other people’s stressful lives in EastEnders – my number 1 programme.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
In 2005, I entered the Miss Asia Contest and was awarded Miss Photogenic 2005.
What is your most treasured possession?
Family! Family is everything over anything.
Tell us something different about yourself?
I am a qualified Makeup Artist! My Real name is Sharonjit, and my family know me as Shaz.
